Privacy Policy
Your family’s privacy comes first
Last updated: November 1, 2026
Sparrow Stories is made for young children, so we collect as little as we possibly can. This page explains, in plain words, what stays on your device, the little that leaves it, and why.
The short version
- No ads, no tracking and no third-party analytics. Ever.
- No accounts. We never ask for your name, email, photos or location.
- Your child’s first name is sent to us only so the storyteller can say it. It is never linked to you, your device or your family.
- Everything else, like profiles, favorites and stickers, stays on your device.
What stays on your device
Child profiles, favorite stories (hearts), the sticker map, story progress, settings and the names of family members and pets you add are saved only on your iPhone or iPad. We can’t see them. Deleting the app deletes them.
What we receive, and why
Only three things ever leave your device, and none of them is linked to you:
Names for the storyteller
When you set up a child, the app sends their first name (spelled the way it should sound) and the chosen storyteller voice to our server, so the stories can say the name out loud. If you add brothers, sisters or pets for the bedtime prayer, each name is sent on its own in the same way.
We keep the finished recording in a cache under a scrambled code (a “hash”) so the next family named Ella doesn’t need a new one. The recording isn’t stored with anything about your device or family.
Story feedback (only if you choose)
In the Grown-ups area you can give a story a thumbs up or down and add a short note. We use this only to make the stories better. Please don’t include names or personal details in notes.
A random install code
Each request carries a random code made when the app is installed. We scramble it and use it only to limit how many new names can be requested in a day, to keep the service from being misused. It is not stored with names or feedback.
Who helps us run Sparrow Stories
We use two service providers, and only for the jobs below:
- Microsoft Azure hosts our small server and stores the name recordings, feedback and daily limit counts.
- ElevenLabs, a voice service, turns a first name into the storyteller’s voice. It receives the name only, never your install code or IP address, and we delete each request from its history once the recording is made.
We don’t sell, rent or share any information with anyone else.
Purchases
Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your name, Apple ID or payment details. Apple’s privacy policy applies to purchases.
How long we keep things
- Name recordings: kept in our cache while the app may need them, and deleted after 12 months without use.
- Feedback and notes: read by us and deleted within 60 days.
- Daily limit counts: deleted after 7 days.
Children’s privacy
Sparrow Stories is in the App Store’s Kids category and follows its rules, and we follow the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We don’t ask children for any personal information. Children can’t send us anything on their own: setup, feedback, purchases and links all sit behind a grown-ups check.
A parent can ask us at any time to delete a name recording or any feedback, and we’ll do it.
Your choices
- Delete the app to remove everything stored on your device.
- Email us to delete a name recording or feedback you sent. Tell us the first name and we’ll find it.
- You can use the app without sending feedback.

This website doesn’t use cookies, ads or analytics, and doesn’t load anything from other companies. Our web host, Cloudflare, keeps standard server logs for security.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top and, for any big change, mention it in the app’s update notes.
